GENERALLY
These are the conditions for booking the tours through Greece Tours. The contract between the parties is made on the terms outlined herein. Because our Terms & Conditions contain legal obligations, we encourage you to read them carefully. They form the basis on which bookings are accepted by the Office. By using GreeceTours.com or any affiliated website, you agree to be legally bound by these terms, which shall take effect immediately. Greece Tours may change online these Terms & Conditions at any time without any notice. All cotracts before change remain as they agreed.
Travel program information and details may change due to frequent and extraordinary changes in conditions worldwide, especially in transport and international relations. In this case you will be notified immediately in the most convenient way, and for this reason the Office should have all your contact details (telephones, mobile, viber, fax, email), so that it can contact you at any time.
REGISTRATION – PARTICIPATION IN ORGANIZED TRAVELS
You can subscribe to one of our trips if you are over 18 years old or if you are accompanied by an adult, as long as there are places available and with the current price and other charges.
A registration is valid if it is stated on the deposit receipt of the specific trip, with the dates of departure and return and any other distinctive details. The right to participate in the trip is secured by paying the full value and the relevant charges at least 30 days before departure. Any non-payment of the total value of the trip in the foreseen time entitles the Office to cancel the reservation and, if necessary, to demand cancellation, in accordance with the cancellation terms provided herein.
The party, who represents his family or team, has the obligation to inform all his traveling companions about the details and the terms of the trip. The participants through a third party have the same obligations as the representative who registered them during the trip, and the office Office makes available to them any relevant information, if requested.
OBLIGATIONS – RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OFFICE
Greece Tours has the obligation to coordinate and execute in the best possible way the trips it has to the customers. The Office, having exhausted all possibilities of provision and care, is not responsible for wrong actions and omissions of third parties and their associates, and for emergencies such as cancellations, delays or changes of routes of various modes of transport (airplanes, ships, buses, trains, etc.) due to exclusion (“embargo”) of areas due to terrorist acts, strikes and other causes. Due to the possibility of short or long delays, for technical or meteorological or other reasons, customers may not schedule their visits or their participation in events, etc. on flight days or, in general, their transfer from one destination to another. Any scheduled tour, in case of delay, is transferred to the following days, and if this is not possible, the cost is refunded.
It is emphasized that the Office is not able to anticipate or control the circumstances that are out of its sphere of influence and may lead to the cancellation of the trip or damage due to non-performance or improper execution of the agreed travel services. Typical examples of such cases are: strikes, accidents, diseases, epidemics, organic disturbances due to local conditions, altitude, climate, due to meals not included in the itinerary or due to insufficient hygiene conditions due to external factors, injuries due to illness, terrorist acts, hijackings, earthquakes, weather, fires, epidemics, toxic infections and any other emergency or force majeure.
In the above cases, Greece Tours is not responsible for repairing any damage caused by them. It will, however, make every effort to support and care for customers in any way, without this giving the Office a responsibility or obligation to cover the relevant emergency costs, which will have to be covered, as in cases of force majeure, by the customers themselves.
If, after the departure of the client for the trip, the Office is unable, for reasons due to force majeure, as described above, to provide a significant part of the services provided in the contract, it must make the appropriate arrangements that will allow the smooth continuation of the journey. If such arrangements are not possible, Greece Tours has the responsibility to return the customer to the place of departure or to any other point of return agreed upon.
Reasonable complaints, during the trip, must be reported immediately and on the spot to the attendant (or, in the absence of this, to our office), and to the provider of the specific service, in writing. The attendant writes in the same form his remarks on the subject. If the identified problem could not be resolved on the spot, after your return from the trip you should submit in writing to the Office any relevant complaint within 15 working days, along with any documents or other evidence you have for justification of.
There is a case, in order to be able – in terms of cost – to make an organized trip, a minimum number of participants is required, for which you will be informed by the special booklet of the program of each trip. If this number is not filled in, Greece Tours reserves the right to cancel this trip, and must inform in writing (mail or e-mail), and within the deadlines provided in the description of the organized trip, the consumers who had registered for it, and to return the money they had paid up to the time of cancellation for their participation in this program.
Facilities that are not mentioned in the descriptions of the programs of the organized trips or that are mentioned as optional, are either not offered at all by Greece Tours or are available with extra charge beyond the listed prices, until finally it is possible to implement them. These optional benefits, however, (field trips, evening events, museum admissions, etc.), are not mandatory for either party (organizer / client), and are only available if a minimum number of participants is completed and the total amount is prepaid. Greece Tours is not responsible for optional benefits which are not provided by it.
LIABILITIES – CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
It is necessary for the clients to fully comply with the travel plan and the instructions of the escorts or guides and to arrive in time at the gathering places for the various benefits of the program. The delay and inconsistency of the customer results in the loss of the flight, excursion, transportation or other service, Greece Tours is not obliged to refund for the service lost. In this case, the customer will have to reconnect with the group at his own risk and expense. Greece Tours will make every effort to assist him/her in this reconnection.
At airports and ports, you must be at least two (2) hours before your departure. If no flight attendant is provided, you must confirm your next flights with the airline on the spot and make sure from which airport and terminal your flight departs and at what time. Any loss of the means of transport of the organized trip from such a delay implies the loss of the whole trip, in case it is not possible to reconnect with the rest of the group, without the right of refund. Otherwise, the costs for their reconnection with the rest of the group are borne by the customers themselves, and the Office will make every effort to assist them organizationally in this.
Customers are responsible for the actions of the children they accompany and must constantly monitor them throughout the journey for their safety and behavior.
In case the client interrupts his trip by his own decision and leaves the group, even due to force majeure, he is not entitled to claim any compensation for any previous or further service presented in the package. In the same way, Greece Tours is not responsible for any package travel services which were not able to be provided to the customer by his own negligence or responsibility, or due to his illness.
In case the customer is prevented from participating in the organized trip in which he has reserved, he can assign his reservation to another person, who meets the conditions for participation in the specific trip, no later than 7 working days before departure, while especially for Shipping the deadline is 12 working days before departure. In case of any outstanding balance of the amount or possible additional expenses from the assignment (e.g., from the fact that the new client is a person of the opposite sex), the assignor and the transferee are jointly and severally liable to Greece Tours for their payment.
Especially in the case of regular air carriers, it should be noted that it is not possible to change the passenger’s name, but only to cancel the existing booking and to book a new seat. The Office will make every effort to find a new position, but will not bear any responsibility in case this is not possible. The resulting mandatory cancellation of the reservation will be made in accordance with the terms of cancellation provided herein.
HOTELS – ACCOMMODATION – SHIPS – OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORT
All information regarding the categorization or classification of the hotels and accommodations mentioned in our organized travel plans is in accordance with the applicable legislation of the Greek State for the tourist classification of hotels and accommodation, which may differ slightly from your own country. Be aware that there is no single international ranking of hotels.
The selection of hotels and accommodation is based on their location and the services they offer, combined with the best possible price depending on their category, as stated in the description of each trip. Most hotel rooms have two beds or a double. The triple rooms might be double rooms with an extra bed. They may not very comfortable and the extra bed may be smaller than normal or a sofa.
In group tours, and package trips which have special economic prices, in general, no special rooms are usually offered. In private tours, the hotels and the rooms are defined after mutual agreements between the traveler and Greece Tours.
Rooms are delivered by hotels usually between 13:00-15:00 and are available to tenants until 11:00 on the day of departure. In case you wish to enter the room earlier or leave later, the Office will try to serve you and, if rooms are available, you will have to pay the relevant fee.
On individual trips, in case of late arrival at the hotel, after the day or time of the scheduled arrival of the customer, and as long as he has not informed the hotel and the Office, the hotel has the right to cancel the reservation and make available the room for the entire period of booking, if requested.
On ships, in general, the cabins are smaller than the hotel rooms and, apart from the levels where they are located (decks), are divided into external (with window or porthole) and internal (without window). It can also be of the “bunk” type, with beds up and down. The categorization of cabins (lux, superior, etc.) is at the discretion of the shipping companies.
We recommend that you do not leave your bags, machines, telephones and other personal items in any area of hotels, ships and other accommodation, as well as in the means of transport.
